EC call for data on nano gold, platinum and copper as cosmetic ingredients - Deadline 10 November 2019
On 11 June 2019, the Commission published a call for data to get information on of gold, platinum and copper under the framework of the Cosmetic Regulation (EC) 1223/2009.

France to ban E171, Titanium Dioxide, in foods from 1 January 2020
The French government release a press release on April 17, 2019, informing that they are banning titanium dioxide in foods from 1 January 2020. The decision, from the Ministry of Environment and from the Ministry of Economy, will be published shortly as a ministerial decree.  E171 is used in foods e.g. mainly as whitener agent.

Minutes from SCCS Nano Working Group March Meeting
The European Commission Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety (SCCS) has a dedicated Working Group on Nanomaterials in Cosmetic Products. The minutes from its meeting on 28th of March has recently been made available. 
SCCS discuss update to Cosmetics Nano Guidance - Possible adoption in June
At its meeting in March, the European Commission Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety (SCCS) discussed its revision of the Nano Guidance document. The minutes of the meeting indicates that the checklists for Applicant should also be revised.
EFSA Stakeholder workshop on nanoscience and nanotechnology 1-2 April

SCCS publish preliminary opinion on solubility of Synthetic Amorphous Silica – Deadline 17 May 2019
The European Commission Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety (SCCS) recently published a draft opinion on solubility of Synthetic Amorphous Silica (SAS). The draft is out for public comments until 17 May 2019. 
ECHA includes Carbon Nanotubes for substance evaluation plan 2019-2021
In the latest Community Rolling Action Plan (CoRAP), published 19 March, Carbon nanotubes are to be evaluated by Germany in 2019, due to initial grounds of concerns as ‘suspected carcinogen, other hazard based concern, wide dispersive use, consumer use, exposure of environment, cumulative exposure’.
