The report, entitled The Future of Nanotechnology: Electronics in Medicine, highlights how nanoscale electronics could bring 'a further push towards implanted electronics in the human body'
EC SCENIHR requests Information and Experts in its Investigation of Nanomaterials in Medical Devices

The EC has recently requested that SCENIHR provide an opinion on medical devices containing nanomaterials; in response the committee has issued 'a call for expression of interest for experts in this topic', and has invited parties that have information that could assist them to contact them

A US FDA bill which provided the groundwork for new nanotechnology-related regulations has been recently signed into existence by the US President. A report recently published by both ANEC and BEUC has said that 117 products containing nano-scale silver were found by them in Europe between 2011 and 2012. The review, Nano: Very small and Everywhere, states that 'this is a tremendous growth of claims', as in 2009 only 151 products were found to claim to have any nanomaterials in them

The US DEA has announced the registration of PCAS-Nanosyn, LLC as 'a bulk manufacturer of...controlled substances' through the US Federal Register of 25 May 2012. According to the notice, the company is now authorised to produce a number of substances, including amphetamine, codeine and morphine
