NIA Member SwedNanoTech recently held its annual ‘Nano Forum’ conference in Sweden. Co-organised with the Nanotechnology Industries Association (NIA), the conference discussed nanotechnology safety and innovation with hundreds of visitors from industry and academia.
Exhibitions were held throughout the day by various companies, and the showcase was the awarding of the ‘Nano Company of the Year’. Speakers included:
- Henrik Laursen from the European Commission, discussing REACH
- Antje Grobe from the ZSI Institut, discussing public perceptions and attitudes towards nanotechnology
- Caroline Kranz from BASF, discussing how important transparency about the subject is to this NIA Member
- Tom van Teunenbroek from the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment, discussing the NANoREG project
NIA Director General Steffi Friedrichs moderated the conference, and was impressed with the success and enthusiasm of companies showcasing their materials on the day.
