The Nanotechnology Industries Association (NIA) has responded to the US National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health's (NIOSH) request for information on nano-silver. Its main suggestion is for the agency 'to avoid redundancy' by taking into account 'all the results of the OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) Sponsorship Programme'. This is because the organisation has already done 'a lot of research on risk assessment on nanosilver'.
Useful references are also suggested in the following areas:
- Nanotoxicology (general)
- Review articles
- In vitro and in vivo toxicity studies
NIOSH was looking for stakeholder input as it had already consulted a number of publications on the topic but that the number it had found was 'limited'.
