Talks on regulations and developments relevant to nanoscale silver were given by the Nanotechnology Industries Association (NIA) at an event recently. The event, which the NIA co-hosted along with the Nanosilver Network, saw 40 international participants attend.
The conference heard presentations on a wide variety of themes, from the corporate perspective on nanotechnology regulations, to the positions of the EU and Germany on the matter. Concrete policies and their impact on small and medium enterprises were also looked at.
The representative from the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) told attendees that there are no nano-specific information requirements in REACH, and that the agency will help applicants prepare dossiers through workshops and webinars it will run.
