Following the UK Confederation of British Industy’s acknowledgement of the NIA and its nomination for the NIA to join the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development's (OECD) Business and Industry Advisory Committee (BIAC), the NIA has now been confirmed as a member of BIAC and its Nanotechnology Network.
The next meeting of the BIAC Nanotechnology Network will be held on the 9 July 2007 in Washington DC.
As a BIAC representative, the NIA has been confirmed as a full member of the OECD's WPMN (Working Party on Manufactured Nanomaterials) Steering Group (SG) 6 (topic: Co-operation on Risk Assessment and Exposure Measurement), and as an additional back-up delegate for Steering Group 2 (topic: Environmental Health and Safet Research Strategies on Manufactured Nanomaterials). These steering groups have been established according to the proposed action plan developed at the first OECD WPMN meeting, held between 26-27 October 2006 in London.
The second meeting of the OECD WPMN will be held between 25-27 April in Berlin, Germany.
