Comments provided by the Nanotechnology Industries Association (NIA) to the Strategic Approach to International Chemicals Management's (SAICM) Global Plan of Action are included in the list of official submissions received from stakeholders. The comments can be found in the document Submissions received from stakeholders on the inclusion of activities relating to nanotechnologies and manufactured nanomaterials and hazardous substances within the life cycle of electrical and electronic products to SAICM Global Plan of Action, which is an information document that will be used at the upcoming third International Conference on Chemicals Management (ICCM3).
The NIA provided comments specifically on proposed activities on nanotechnologies and manufactured nanomaterials, and on the proposal to include a new work area to the Global Plan of Action on nanotechnologies and manufactured nanomaterials. The comments from the Association focus on 'five of the nine activities, for which comments were sought', as well as on a number of general topics.
The NIA was one of only 12 stakeholders whose comments were included in the submissions document.
