The European Commission's (EC) Joint Research Centre (JRC) has released a technical report on the 'Safety Issues and Regulatory Challenges of Nanomaterials' symposium it held in May 2012. The event was organised by the JRC's Institute for Health and Consumer Protection (JRC-IHCP) along with several European FP7 (Seventh Framework Programme) projects, and 'presented the latest scientific progress and policy developments in the field of nanosafety'. Overall 27 presentations were made at the meeting, including one by the Nanotechnology Industries Association (NIA).
The recently published report summarises all of the presentations made and provides further sources of information for readers. It also details the exchanges held during the various discussion panels held.
