In the framework of the Regulation on Cosmetic Products 1223/2009, the European Commission Directorate General for the Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (DG GROWTH) has published calls for information on the following nanomaterials used as ingredients in cosmetics:
- Colloidal silver (nano)
- Styrene/Acrylates Copolymer (Nano)
- Sodium Styrene/Acrylates Copolymer (Nano)
DG GROWTH invites ‘any interested parties’ to provide relevant safety information on the safety of these three substances, ‘in particular data regarding all toxicological end-points and an indication on the suggested concentration safe limits for these ingredients’.
The European Commission will close the three calls for data on 30 June 2015.
