Recently the Austrian Environment Agency, on behalf of the EC, has been elaborating on a methodology manual for the future reviews of the List of Restricted Substances (Annex II) under the recast of the directive on the Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (RoHS2).

The Austrian Environment Agency is now preparing the ground for future revisions. Reviews of Annex II of the RoHS2 directive shall be initiated either by the European Commission or by a Member State. So as to facilitate reviews, the first step of the methodology, the creation of 'an inventory of substances used in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (EEE)', is now being prepared by the Austrian Environment Agency with stakeholder participation.
