European Commission launches comprehensive online database of cosmetics ingredients
The European Commission has launched an online database of the ingredients used in cosmetic products. The database intends to make it easier for companies to find up-to-date information on substances needed to develop new cosmetics or to improve existing ones.
The new database, called CosIng, lists comprehensive information on cosmetic ingredients contained in the ‘Cosmetics Directive 76/768/EEC’, the ‘Inventory of Cosmetic Ingredients’, and the ‘Opinions on cosmetic ingredients of the Scientific Committee on Consumer Products’.
