EFSA to evaluate nanoparticles’ risk assessment methodologies

Catherine Geslain-Lanéelle, the head of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) this week told EU parliamentarians that the risk assessor's current work included the examination of risk assessment methodologies for nanoparticles used in foodstuffs.
‘As I look to the future we will face new challenges due to innovative technologies, international trade, climate change, increasingly sensitive detection methods and new emerging risks,’ she stated.
