EC DG SANCO announces 2nd Annual Nanotechnology "Safety for Success" Dialogue Workshop

Under the auspices of the French EU Presidency, the Directorate-General for Health and Consumers (DG SANCO) of the European Commission is organizing the2nd Annual Nanotechnology "Safety for Success" Dialogue Workshop ; the workshop will be held on Thursday, 2nd and Friday, 3rd October 2008. At the Hotel Sofitel Brussels Europe, Place Jourdan 1, B-1040 Brussels, Belgium.
According to the event announcement, ‘the workshop will bring together scientists, risk assessors, public authorities, industry, and consumer and environmental NGOs to examine and discuss the scientific state-of-the-art, regulation, international developments, risk governance, communication, and to identify appropriate means to strengthen guidance in support of the safe, integrated, and responsible development of nanotechnologies.’
The following schedule is outlined on the event website:
- Friday, 19th September 2008: closing of the registrations and deadline for submission of the contributions via the dedicated web site;
- Thursday, 2nd and Friday, 3rd October 2008: conference;
- Monday, 6th October 2008: uploading of the presentations;
- By December 2008: publication of the workshop proceedings.
