The Board of Appeal of the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has released a Decision annulling a 2014 Decision requiring additional information on titanium dioxide (TiO2) substance identity as well as a list of phases, forms and surface treatments for sub-pigmentary (i.e. nano) forms.
This decision was first contested in September 2014. The appeal opposed a consortium of titanium dioxide manufacturers to ECHA, supported by the French Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy.
The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has provided three draft updates of the Appendices to Chapters R.7a, R.7b and R7.c of the Guidance on IR&CSA (Endpoint specific guidance) on “recommendations for nanomaterials” regarding environmental endpoints.
The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has released a public version of the draft Guidance on recommendations for nanomaterials applicable to QSARs and grouping of chemicals sent for CARACAL consultation, the Competent Authorities for REACH and CLP (CARACAL) are now invited to comment upon this text.
The deadline for the consultation is 20 February 2017.
